Late-afternoon light slants across soft, burnished sand as a convoy of 4x4s heads away from the city. The desert suddenly takes the lead — dunes rise and fall like a slow ocean, the wind already sketching new ribs in the slopes. You feel the vehicle lean, tires bite, and the landscape push and pull you through broad, open space.
