Our tour guarantees small group sizes so we can go off-the-beaten path and explore what makes Bergen unique.
This tour is a crash course in everything Bergen. You’ll learn about the history and importance of Bergen, plus what it’s like to live here today. The aim is to have you leaving the tour loving Bergen and full of ideas about what you can do next.
On this tour, many of the historical sites in Bergen are covered. We visit Bryggen, the Bergen Fortress, and St. Mary’s Church. We also visit places that you may not know, and you’ll leave the tour saying “I would’ve never come here! Thank you!”
This small-group tour combines history, culture, and everyday life along with insider information from your local guide. All of our guides speak English fluently and are certified guides in the city.

The tour ends at: Across the street from the tourist office.
The walk goes over cobblestone and we do use stairs to go up-hill. The cobblestone can be slippery on a rainy day, so bring good shoes. The walk itself is easy.
If you don't think you can go up-hill, I recommend booking our private tour instead.
On the tour, you will see important landmarks like Bryggen, St. Mary’s Church, Fløibanen, the Fish Market, and the Bergen Fortress. We will also see incredible murals, friendly cats, beautiful gardens, cute wooden houses, and see what makes Bergen so special.
Because this tour is small, you can ask endless questions about anything and everything related to Norway. It gives an opportunity to learn about what it’s really like to live in Bergen.
Bergen’s weather is notoriously wet and rainy, and this tour does not cancel in case of bad weather. Only in extreme circumstances will the tour be cancelled.
It is expected that all guests dress appropriately for the weather. You can reach out to me if you’d like specific information on clothing for wet weather. Time will not be allocated to buy umbrellas or clothing during the walk, and refunds are not given if the guest is underdressed and wishes to leave the tour.
