Secure Your Park Permits Early

Permits for camping and park entry must be purchased separately and in advance to ensure your trip goes smoothly.

Wear a Proper Personal Flotation Device

PFDs are mandatory by law and not included with the rental, so plan to bring or rent them to stay safe on the water.

Plan Your Route with Portages in Mind

Algonquin’s waterways include numerous portages; carry lightweight, waterproof gear and train for moderate physical exertion.

Check Store Hours Before Pick-Up

Canoes must be picked up at opening and returned by closing on the final day, so verify hours ahead to avoid scheduling conflicts.
