Wear a Coast Guard Approved PFD

Personal flotation devices are required by law in Algonquin Park and are not included with the rental, so plan to bring or rent one separately.

Check Weather Forecasts Before Launch

Algonquin’s weather can change rapidly; strong winds and storms can make paddling hazardous, so plan your days carefully.

Pack Proper Permits for Camping

If you plan to camp overnight along your route, obtain the necessary park permits in advance to avoid fines.

Plan Your Shuttle Logistics

Although the rental offers store pick-up, coordinate your shuttle or return transport beforehand to avoid logistical headaches.
