Morning light slices through pine ribs as riders roll out of Turda, engines low and headlights catching mist above narrow valley roads. Over seven days the route pushes into the Southern Carpathians: switchbacks that climb toward wind-scoured passes, castle ramparts that lean over cobbled towns, and stretches of open tarmac where the horizon dares you to open the throttle.

Riders should have good endurance for daily multi-hour riding, rapid bike handling and ability to manage altitude changes.
Yes — a valid passport and an unrestricted motorcycle driving license are required at departure; minimum age is 21.
Basic coverage varies; CASCO comprehensive insurance is recommended and commonly available (~€20/day). A refundable damage deposit (~€500) is also required.
Both are paved but can have gravel patches, narrow shoulders, and rapidly changing weather; Transfagarasan is steep and technical, Transalpina reaches higher altitude and can be exposed to wind and snow outside summer.
Accommodation for six nights is included (mix of 4* hotel, 3* hotels and guesthouses) and breakfast; ask the operator about luggage transfer or bring compact luggage suited for motorcycle racks.
Transfagarasan was built between 1970–1974 as a strategic military route under Nicolae Ceaușescu; the region also hosts medieval Saxon settlements and fortifications linked to early Romanian history.
