Adventure Tips

Hydration is non-negotiable

Carry at least 2–3 liters of water per day and refill when available — desert heat and dune climbs increase fluid loss quickly.

Start dune climbs early

Climb Dune 45 or nearby dunes at dawn to avoid extreme heat and to catch the best light for photos.

Footwear for sand and rock

Use sturdy, closed hiking boots to protect feet from hot sand during the day and sharp rocks near canyon viewpoints.

Layer for temperature swings
