Victoria sits on Lekwungen (Songhees and Esquimalt) territory; the downtown grew rapidly in the 19th century as a British colonial port, leaving grand public buildings and a compact historic core.
Operators keep groups small and route choices limited to reduce traffic impact; stick to sidewalks and marked park paths to protect shoreline vegetation and heritage sites.
