Dawn breaks over a flat savanna and the truck’s headlights pick out small shapes—dik-dik flicking through the long grass, a distant rhino wallowing in a dust halo. On this six-day loop from Nairobi you move through three distinct northern Kenya ecosystems: open grazing plains at Ol Pejeta, the acacia-lined Ewaso Ng'iro corridor of Samburu and the rolling ranchlands and forest edges of Solio and the Aberdares.
