You wake before dawn as the vehicle idles in the dark and the desert exhales cool air. The pop-up roof slides up and the horizon takes shape—dunes turning from purple to ochre while elephants check a nearby waterhole under floodlights. Over six days you move from the scrubby central plateau to the bleached Etosha pan, across Damaraland’s fractured rock, down to Swakopmund’s wind-scoured shoreline and into the Namib’s world-class dunes at Sossusvlei.
moderate.
6 days.
Suitable for travelers comfortable with long vehicle transfers, short steep dune climbs (up to 300m) and walking on loose sand.
Price covers five nights twin-share lodge accommodation with en-suite bathrooms as described, meals listed in the itinerary, guided game drives, entry fees for Etosha and Sossusvlei, vehicle transport with pop-up roof, and a Sossusvlei 4x4 shuttle.
The tour is suitable for most fitness levels; activities include game drives, short hikes and a climb up a 300m dune—no technical climbing required.
Dry winter months (June–August) concentrate animals at waterholes for reliable sightings, while the rainy summer (Dec–Feb) brings newborns and migratory birds but more heat and dust.
Pick-up and drop-off within Windhoek city limits are included; airport transfers should be confirmed during booking.
The Namib Desert is among the oldest deserts on Earth; coastal towns like Swakopmund reflect German colonial-era architecture and culture.
Namibia uses community-based conservation and strict park rules to protect species like black rhino; stay on roads, follow guides and avoid disturbing wildlife to minimize impact.
MoAfrika Tours operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
