The sun comes up hard and low over a white sand shoreline as your 4x4 edges away from Socotra International Airport — salt on the wind, cliffs dropping into water that seems to glow from below. You step off the vehicle and, within hours, are setting a camp on Arher Beach with the sea and an enormous sky framing the first night.

Moderate fitness: able to hike 2–5 hours over uneven terrain, get on/off boats, and handle sandy campsites.
This tour handles the visa process as part of the package; you will receive a paper visa upon arrival but must provide passport details in advance.
Hikes are moderate with some uneven and rocky sections; Hoq Cave involves walking on uneven ground and modest scrambling; basic mobility and balance are required.
Camping is beach- and forest-based with provided tents and communal meals; expect rustic but organized setups and shared facilities.
Basic snorkeling can be arranged; dive-master equipment rental for deeper swims is usually available for a small fee (around $5).
Socotra’s isolation preserved unique flora and a distinct Soqotri culture; historically it was a stop on ancient Indian Ocean trade routes and prized for resin (dragon’s blood).
Much of Socotra is protected but fragile — stick to marked paths, avoid removing plants or shells, and support local guides who practice low-impact camping.
