Dust rises in a slow ribbon as the safari jeep threads red earth and scrub toward a stand of ancient baobabs. In two hours the landscape shifts from roadside scrub to panoramic cliff-edge views of the Zambezi gorge and the ironwork span of the Victoria Falls Bridge, then to a quiet baobab grove where trunks are broad as houses and the air tastes faintly of citrus from baobab pulp.
