The road leaves Addis Ababa and, over the next four days, the Rift Valley pulls you south: crater rims, wide lakes, and towns that trade in coffee and story. By the first evening you’ll be watching Lake Awasa’s fishermen haul nets while the sky slides toward a volcanic silhouette; later you wake to the braided terraces of Konso carved into red slopes by generations of dryland farmers.
