About

Silver Lake Dunes are a lofty, 2,000-acre sand mountain that separates miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and the 690-acre Silver Lake. Closed during the winter, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes State Park ORV Area open season runs 7 days a week from April 1–October 31st, 2022.

When you arrive:

  • You'll check in off-site at our store 1 hour before your reserved time
  • Get fitted for Safety gear and watch a safety video
  • Enjoy a complimentary shuttle into the park, where your rented Dune Buggy will be ready and waiting for you!
  • Your rental time starts IN the park, not at our Office!

POWERFUL Water-Cooled and Fuel-Injected engine & Big Paddle Tires Drivers must be 21+, passengers must be minimum 4 (parents: if your child requires a car seat please bring it)

Important Info

  • Arrive 1 hour before rental start time to get safety gear and orientation at SunBuggy Office
  • Waivers are sent in confirmation email must be completed before arrival
  • State Park fees and fuel charges are paid for in advance so it's no hassle on the day of your rental!

SILVER LAKE DUNES PARK INFORMATION

Seasonal hours:

Early Season (April-May 1st): 9:00am-8:00pm Peak Season (May 1st–September 15th): 9:00am–10:00pm Late Season (September 15th–Oct 31st) 9:00am–8:00pm

  • last rentals are 2 hours before closing
  • The vendor gate opens at 8:30am so we can get ready for the first ride to start at 9am - please arrive 1 hour before your reserved ride time.
  • Please note that Michigan Silver Lake Dunes State Park requires a recreation passport for all vehicles entering the park and as a renter, we have taken care of that for you on the rented vehicles.
