A dawn crossing at the Eilat border sets the tone: heat shimmers over cracked tarmac, and the desert ahead seems to breathe. By midmorning you’re driving into Wadi Rum, where sandstone towers and wind-sculpted ridges push the sky into a deeper blue. A Bedouin guide meets you at the visitors’ center; tea is poured, stories are offered, and the desert begins to feel less empty and more like a living place.
