Dust on the road, Atlas peaks retreating behind the bus, and then the desert opens — a moving horizon of ochre dunes where wind carves new ridgelines each day. By late afternoon the minivan breathes out at Merzouga and camels await, swaying patiently as you mount for a one-and-a-half-hour trek to a remote bivouac.

The camel trek from Merzouga to the bivouac is roughly 1.5 hours and covers a short dune route designed for sunset access and photo stops.
Camps are traditional Berber-style tents with individual beds and basic WC facilities; comfort levels vary by operator but bedding is provided.
The operator lists the tour as suitable for all fitness levels; however mounting camels and walking short stretches of soft sand can be challenging—plan accordingly.
