A long ribbon of asphalt leaves the city of Fez behind and, as the Atlas foothills rise, the air cools and cedar trees crowd the road. By midday the landscape changes again—pale rock gives way to palm-lined valleys and finally the orange curves of the Erg Chebbi dunes as Merzouga draws near. This three-day private tour packs mountain villages, cedar forests, oasis viewpoints and two nights of comfortable lodging culminating in an overnight luxury camp among the dunes.
