Expect technical sand riding, short rock sectors and long, fast traverses on former rally tracks — day three includes roughly 50 km of dune crossing on the Dakar-era 4x4 route, and day two pushes 15 km into soft sand to the M’fis mines and Hugar Mountain. Yes — riders should be comfortable on off-road motorcycles and have prior experience riding in sand; guides can assist but not replace rider skill.
A valid motorcycle license is required to operate the KTM; local regulations may also require ID and passport details for rental documentation.
Two nights in a superior riad in Merzouga or Hassilabied are included with breakfast and two dinners; final day ends in the afternoon with no accommodation provided.
The tour includes a guide, 4x4 support vehicle and mechanic assistance, plus bike insurance for the rental during the tour.
