You kick off before dawn, engines whispering as the road unspools into limestone ridges and stair-stepped rice terraces. The wind in the valleys dares you forward while the karst peaks loom like weathered watchmen; the first day climbs toward Quan Ba Heaven Gate at about 1,500 m, where a quick coffee rewards the sweep of ridgelines.

If you intend to ride the provided self-automatic bike, an international motorcycle license is required; otherwise you can pay extra for a driver.
Expect mixed surfaces—paved and uneven mountain stretches—with daily distances around 90–135 km and winding, narrow passes.
Two nights in hotels or homestays are included along with meals as listed (breakfasts, lunches, dinners); homestays are simple but culturally rich.
The 1.5-hour boat trip is generally family-friendly, but infants must sit on laps and everyone should follow safety briefings and wear life jackets.
