You pull away from Nairobi as the city thins and the road unspools into broad, sun-baked savanna. The first morning, Mount Kilimanjaro looms, its snow-cap watching over herds of elephants moving like slow freight across Amboseli’s flat floodplain. By the second day the terrain changes—Tsavo West’s volcanic ridges, Mzima Springs’ glassy pools and the rubbled Shetani lava flows demand a sharper eye and a steadier camera.
