About This Adventure

Embark on a thrilling 3-day canoeing adventure along the scenic James River, featuring exhilarating rapids, stunning Blue Ridge Mountain views, and private camping sites. Enjoy the flexibility of ending your journey right where your car is parked, making this trip both exciting and convenient for outdoor enthusiasts.

Pricing includes: Rental of boat, paddles, life jackets, safety orientation, river maps, use of dry bags, 5-gallon water jugs, access to private land for camping, and all required shuttles.

Trip Summary

This trip starts just below the start of the James River, below the convergence of the Jackson and Cowpasture rivers at the Glen Wilton Bridge. It features miles of great current with numerous rapids suitable for canoes full of camping gear, gorgeous blue ridge mountain views, great fishing, swimming holes, and great camping. We shuttle customers 33 miles upstream to the Glen Wilton public boat landing where the customers will float back to our Buchanan shop camping at private campsites along the way. Lots of flexibility on your schedule the last day as you end where your car is parked (no need for a return shuttle).

For Safety reasons, minimum of 2 persons required.
