About This Adventure

So how does this work?

OK here's the deal, you have 24hrs to kill in the Western Catskills, and you're not so much about seeing as much as possible as you're about seeing it as well as possible. What you need is a bike. And maybe binoculars. You can ride a Fairdale Ridgemont damn near anywhere.* Equally at home on paved roads and gravel trials (but not at all at home on mountain bike trails), the Fairdale Ridgemont is the perfect do-it-most bike for a Catskill romp. Check out the route maps page for maps and descriptions of suggested routes. Each rental includes a helmet, locks and binoculars available by request.

FAQ: What about Monday? A: Monday I'm out of contact. I love ya, but I'm busy recording birdcalls and dunking my head in a bucket of ice water. If you absolutely have to drop your bike back off on Monday, we can work that out in advance, but if, you have a 24hr rental due back on Monday, or if Monday in some way falls within your block of multiple 24hr rentals, you get a bonus day, on the house.

*Exclusions may apply. Please see Rental Agreement for details. View Rental Agreement.pdf

Adventure Tips

Choose routes that match your skill level

Stick to paved roads and gravel trails suitable for the Fairdale Ridgemont; avoid technical mountain bike paths.

Helmet use is mandatory

Always wear the provided helmet to stay safe on varied terrain and busy rural roads.

Check weather before you ride

Rain can turn gravel trails muddy and slippery; plan accordingly to avoid hazardous conditions.

Secure your bike when stopping

Use the included lock whenever you take breaks to prevent theft in town or at trailheads.
