About

Welcome to Art Space on the Coast. Working with clay is a messy job. Art Space provides aprons but you might still get dirty so please wear clothes you do not mind getting muddy. The clay we use is a light color and tends to wash out of your clothes without issue.

This is open studio time. You are free to make anything you want or use any of our equipment (slab roller, slump molds, pottery wheels, etc).

Here are some ideas -

  • wheel throwing
  • Slab making (great for ornaments or making mugs)
  • Slump plate (making a slab, decorating with underglaze, stencils or texture and then slumping over a plate)
  • Sculptures (like fruits or figurines)

Adventure Tips

Wear Comfortable Clothing

Choose clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy due to clay dust and glaze materials.

Arrive Early to Settle In

Arriving 10-15 minutes early helps you get familiar with the tools and workspace before your session starts.

Bring Your Own Inspiration

Photos or sketches of your ideas can help streamline your creative process during the session.

Allow Time for Firing

Your creations need to be kiln-fired after glazing, so factor in time for pickup a few days later.
