Enjoy invigorating hikes, charming town visits, and a scenic chairlift ride with panoramic views. This curated experience blends nature's beauty with local flavors, ensuring unforgettable memories in the heart of the Rockies.
You'll have time to learn and explore both with us and on your own, this is not a touch and go tour, you will also enjoy a few activities, meet local characters, and taste a few local flavours!
This is a two day tour of Banff and Kananaskis, you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel/stay in downtown Calgary both days. Meals are not included, but we'll suggest the best and must do places to eat according to your taste buds!
Day one
You will visit Johnston Canyon's lower falls, a short easy hiking trail with bridges leading to a great reward at the end, beautiful water colour, and very picturesque rock formations along the canyon. After the hike you'll probably get a bit hungry and should head to the town of Banff where you can enjoy lunch, walk the main avenue for some shopping or for some great photo opportunities. You'll have time to also explore some of the beautiful bridges and their views of the town and surrounding mountains. We'll stop to check out Bow Falls in town and a look at the famous Banff Springs Hotel. From there we'll head to another one of my favourite areas of the park, Lake Minnewanka. You can bring your bathing suit and towel in case you like to take a plunge in this frigid but enchanting lake!
To end the day we'll take a ride on a ski lift to a breathtaking lookout overlooking the town of Banff and Vermillion Lakes! And if we are lucky, we might see bears or any other wildlife right under us as we ride to the top!
After this day filled with excitement, we'll return back to Calgary by around 7PM. If you like to be dropped off in Canmore or Banff at the end of the day we can gladly accommodate your request and we'll also pick you up the following morning at your hotel/stay.
Day two
Today will be just as amazing as day one, after being picked up at your hotel/stay in downtown Calgary, our first stop will be the amazing Lake Louise!
This lake is definitely a crowd pleaser, from the views of Victoria Glacier, to the lookouts on the mountains around, to the trail along the lake, and the famous red canoes available for rent, there are plenty of things to do here. You can be sure that this place will stay in your heart and memory for years to come.
Our second stop is one of the most photographed areas of Banff, the astonishing Moraine Lake! My favourite lake in all the parks in the area, not only offers surreal views, the feeling of being present in front of such natural beauty will humble even the most demanding requirements of anyone. We'll have time to enjoy lunch at the local cafeteria.
Frisk glacier water perfect for a polar plunge, or maybe you'll like to rent a canoe and just relax in the serenity of the lake, or simply sit down and take in all the beauty around you. This area is only accessible from mid June to mid September, make sure to enjoy it!
Next stop is Bow Lake, the area offers views of a tall glacier waterfall in the background, the birth of the Bow River along yet another famous place, the Icefield Parkway. We will take a short walk to the lake side to enjoy the views, you'll feel the frigid water with your hands and find out why not many chose to swim at this lake. The photos here are worth framing when you get home.
Our last stop for the day will be at Payto Lake, named after Bill Payto who was both an early pioneer and park warden. This glacier lake can be seen from a lookout above the lake, offering incredible 360 degree views of the lake and the valley. You will have a hard time leaving this stunning and amazing area.
We'll be back in Calgary by 7:30PM
