You step out of the air-conditioned vehicle into a horizon that pushes back — wind-sculpted ridges, volcanic outcrops in black, and chalky mushroom rocks glowing pale under a wide sky. The 4x4 grinds across packed sand toward the White Desert, where wind-carved formations loom like an uncanny gallery. The drive to Bahariya Oasis is roughly 350 km and takes about 4–5 hours each way by air-conditioned vehicle, plus additional 4x4 sections into desert areas.
