The train eases out of Dublin Heuston before the Irish countryside slides into a patchwork of hedgerows and peat-streaked hills. By mid-morning the coach threads through Cork City to Blarney Village, where the stone crouches above a 600-year-old tower and tourists lean back to plant a quick kiss and a wish for eloquence.
easy.
2 days.
Suitable for most fitness levels; participants should be able to manage short walks, stairs, and boarding a coach.
The Ring of Kerry circuit covered on the tour is approximately 179 km (111 miles) with multiple short stops for photos, refreshments and viewpoints.
Trains in Ireland are wheelchair friendly, but coaches are not; guests must be able to board coach steps, so the tour is not suitable for full-time wheelchair users or large mobility scooters.
Admission to Blarney Castle and its gardens is included on the first day, giving time to explore and, if desired, kiss the Blarney Stone.
The overnight stay is at a Killarney B&B with full Irish breakfast included; room types (double/twin) can be requested at booking subject to availability.
Cobh (formerly Queenstown) was Ireland’s main emigration port in the 19th century and the final port of call for the RMS Titanic; Blarney Castle dates to the 15th century and was constructed by the McCarthy chieftains.
Killarney National Park and parts of the Ring are protected landscapes—stay on designated paths, pack out litter, and respect grazing areas to limit erosion and disturbance.
Railtours Ireland First Class operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
