Come out and enjoy the experience of camping out on a sandbar on the river. Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center offers 1- or 2-night trips. Pack your camping gear, and we will transport you (along with our canoe/kayak, paddles and life jackets) and your gear upstream to a put-in point. You will paddle downstream until you find that perfect spot to set up camp on. On a clear night, you will be able to stargaze without any streetlights to disturb your view. The 1 night trip is 11 miles.
If you are a first-time paddler, are not in good physical condition, or are not a strong swimmer, we recommend the 4-mile trip. Please note that river depths can reach greater than 6 feet in some parts, thus we urge guests with limited swimming experience or low stamina to exercise caution when selecting their adventure.
Can I bring my dog You are more than welcome to bring your dog to Adventures Unlimited, as they are welcome on the river and in our designated “pet-friendly” accommodations. Pets must be collared and leashed while on our property and while being transported in our vehicles. As a friendly reminder, please remember to pick up after your dog. The cost to take a pet on the river is $10, payable in the Shop. The most comfortable craft to take your dog in is a canoe, however, smaller dogs are comfortable in a kayak, as well.
All children 6 and under must wear Coast Guard-approved life jackets at all times on the water to ensure safety.
Use a cooler no larger than 48 quarts to maintain canoe/kayak stability and avoid tipping during paddling.
Expect river depths over 6 feet in spots; non-swimmers or those with limited stamina should use caution.
Glass bottles and Styrofoam containers are prohibited to protect the river environment and wildlife.
The waterways around Milton have long been traveled by indigenous peoples and were vital to early European settlers in Northwest Florida’s logging and fishing industries.
Adventures Unlimited emphasizes Leave No Trace principles to protect river habitats and encourages guests to minimize their footprint during overnight trips.
