At first light the river pushes gold across the water as you step onto the Yellow Water cruise—paperbark and pandanus sliding past while marsh birds call and the first crocodiles slip beneath glassy reflections. Over two days this small-group itinerary threads Litchfield’s swim-ready cascades with Kakadu’s floodplain country, giving you sunrise wetlands, ancient rock art and hands-on cultural insights in a tight, practical package.

No—swimming depends on seasonal conditions and park safety; guides pick safe spots when water levels and crocodile warnings allow.
Cruises typically depart at dawn; expect pre-dawn pickup from Cooinda so plan for very early starts and warm layers before sunrise light warms the air.
A scenic flight is optional and may be offered at extra cost; it’s subject to weather and availability and must be booked in advance where offered.
Walks are short to moderate (30–90 minutes) over uneven ground; participants should have a moderate level of fitness and be steady on their feet.
The parks are on lands of the Bininj/Mungguy peoples; rock art at Nourlangie records ancestral stories spanning tens of thousands of years.
