Adventure Tips

Secure your park permits in advance

Permits are required for all overnight stays in Algonquin Park and must be purchased separately from your canoe rental.

Wear a personal flotation device at all times

By law, PFDs are mandatory and not included with the rental—bring your own or purchase one at the outfitter.

Plan your route with daylight hours in mind

Algonquin’s vast lake system requires efficient time management to reach campsites before dark.

Use waterproof bags for your gear

Protect your essentials from water exposure by packing everything in dry bags during your canoe trip.
