Operated by Gregtur Turismo · Brotas, São Paulo
On the road from São Paulo the landscape changes: rolling cerrado gives way to steep cuestas and a river that seems to dare you to step closer. In Brotas, the water is the protagonist — cleaving canyons, powering rapids and polishing sandstone into clear plunge pools.
moderate.
2 days.
Moderate fitness: able to hike uneven trails, climb short ladders, and participate in full-day activity blocks; swimming comfort recommended.
The Mega Tour zipline totals about 1,800 meters across five flights with heights up to around 120 meters over valley terrain.
No; guides provide training and equipment, but comfort with heights and following instructions is necessary for safe rappels.
Rafting on the Jacaré-Pepira mixes calm stretches with class II–III rapids, suitable for guided groups with an instructor per boat.
Brotas lies roughly 3–4 hours by road from São Paulo city center depending on traffic (about 240–260 km).
Brotas grew into an adventure hub in the late 20th century as outfitters leveraged its unique cuesta geology and river systems to develop canyoning and rafting tourism.
Trails pass Atlantic Forest fragments and riparian zones; follow leave-no-trace practices, avoid soap in streams, and keep to marked routes to protect water quality and habitat.
Gregtur Turismo operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
