Fishing Spots

Please note: Fishing Spots are NOT assigned on this trip.

Distance

Cruising out 70 to 100 miles from shore to fish deep water ledges, wrecks, and potholes.

Depth

Depth: The average depth is over 120 feet.

Catch

Trophy sized Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and Vermilion Snapper.

Bait

  • Cut bait (sardines & squid) provided on board at no extra charge.
  • Live Pinfish can be purchased for $11 per dozen by advanced reservation from The Bait Shack.
  • We suggest 1-2 dozen Pinfish per person on this trip. Communal live bait well on board.

Tackle

This is like a 39 hour so you want the bigger tackle, 80-100lb grouper rod at least 6ot reel or even 9ot then a smaller snapper rod with 50-60lb test. Everything is bigger on these trips, fewer lines are going down and huge grouper are getting broke off so don’t bother with the light stuff. You also can leave the trolling tackle at home since were going so fast.
