Duration

10 Hours including approximately 6-7 Hours of Fishing Time!

Distance

Cruising out anywhere from 15-25 miles to fish around 60-100 feet at the captains discretion. We will do our best to put you on cooperative fish where we know they are biting best. We work hard to provide the most action and best opportunity to be as successful as possible.

Catch

May include Red grouper, gag grouper, mangrove snapper, grey snapper, porgies, black sea bass, hogfish, lane snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, mackerel, and kingfish possible spring and fall. Keep in mind this is the shortest trip we offer with a chance for keeper grouper so it's not like the 39 hour where we can get mountains of monster grouper. We typically catch a majority of the grey snapper (grunts), porgies and seabass but you have a shot at keeper grouper, mangroves, lanes, hogfish and more!

Bait

  • Cut bait provided on board at no extra charge (Sardines & Squid).
  • Live Bait (Pinfish) are available by advance reservation for $11.00/dozen.
  • Live Shrimp are available morning of your trip for $4 per dozen or $10 for two doz in a souvenir bait bucket or $20 for 5 doz in a souvenir bait bucket.
  • We suggest you reserve 1-2 dozen pinfish per person and if you’re an advanced angler 2-5 dozen shrimp. During the pre-boarding seminar we will go over suggested live bait for the day.
  • Communal live bait well on board.

Tackle

  • We recommend 60 to 80 lb. test line, 6 oz. sinker, and 6/0 or 7/0 hook for big fish like Grouper.
  • We recommend 40 to 50 lb. test line, 4 oz. sinker, and 4/0 or 5/0 hook for smaller fish like Snapper and Hogfish. Typically for bigger grouper a 6ot reel with 60lb mainline works well and for smaller snapper and hogfish a 4000-5000 series spinning reel works well

Dress in layers

Weather can change quickly — bring light, quick-dry clothing, hats, and sunglasses for comfort and sun protection.
