Perfect for beginners, you'll learn at your own pace, mastering board control while enjoying the stunning scenery and local wildlife. With no pressure, this unique adventure focuses on fun and exploration in a tranquil setting.
A personal lesson is a great way to progress your paddling and understanding of river safety at your own pace, accompanied by a local, experienced instructor.
For complete beginners we start with an overview of the equipment and cover the basic concepts and a safety briefing whilst on dry land.
We then head out on to a beautiful stretch of the River Thames from our private pontoon. The river here is non-tidal which makes it less challenging and gives you the opportunity to focus on learning and having fun. It is also pretty quiet so you won't be performing for an audience!
You'll learn how to control your board whilst kneeling, before progressing to the standing position when you are ready - the exciting bit!
There is no pressure and the aim is to help you enjoy the learning process rather than ticking off a 'must do' list.
We will also get the chance to explore the river and enjoy some islands, bridges and local wildlife.
