Tokatee Golf Club
Tokatee Golf Club presents an 18-hole public course carved from Oregon’s Willamette National Forest, showcasing precise fairways, quick greens, and breathtaking mountain views. Ideal for golfers who appreciate strategic play framed by nature’s quiet grandeur.
Course Overview
Situated along the McKenzie River in Oregon’s lush Willamette National Forest, Tokatee Golf Club offers an 18-hole public layout that combines mountain vistas with a distinct Northwest playing experience. This course unfolds over terrain shaped by gentle rolling hills and dense firs, delivering a parkland-style setting far from urban bustle. The towering evergreens provide both a visual backdrop and a natural challenge, with fairways defined by tight corridors that invite precision more than power.
At roughly 6,300 yards and a par of 71, Tokatee rewards strategic approach shots and careful club selection. Its relatively narrow fairways require accuracy off the tee but remain approachable for golfers across skill levels. For those newer to the game, the layout encourages thoughtful play without overwhelming hazards, while more experienced players will find opportunities to test their shot-making and putting skills. The greens maintain a quick and consistent pace, especially during summer months when the course’s meticulous maintenance shines.
Players will find no shortage of scenic moments throughout the round. Views of snowy mountain peaks punctuate the horizon, creating a striking contrast to the rich green fairways and natural forest floor. The course routing follows the gentle contours of the McKenzie River valley, producing both elevation changes and holes framed by natural vegetation. Carts are available for those who prefer to focus on shot execution and pace of play, though walking the course reveals the fresh forest air and subtle shifts in terrain more intimately.
The clubhouse echoes Tokatee’s welcoming spirit with friendly service and a casual atmosphere that fits the surrounding landscape. Whether stopping for a quick bite or post-round refreshment, players enjoy a relaxed space to reflect on their round and plan their next visit. For golfers in search of a well-kept, scenic public course in the Pacific Northwest, Tokatee Golf Club offers a blend of challenge, beauty, and accessibility that lingers long after the last putt drops.

I don't get up here as often as I should, but was reminded today why it is a special place. I played 18 holes and enjoyed every minute of it, despite my often less than stellar skills. The course is in superb condition right now. This is doubly impressive given how wet things have been this spring and the maintenance challenges that other courses in the area are having. Greens are fast and true, fairways cut tight with plenty of roll. The map on the scorecard can be helpful if you're new to playing here, but this is a pretty straightforward layout. Most of the trouble is easy to see, the fairways are reasonably wide, and it's not an overly long course.

Most scenic course in the U.S. Another great day at Tokatee golf course up the McKenzie River(3/11/22). Rates are now $69 for 18($63 on Fr,Sa, Su). Carts are $20. 10 time punch cards are $480. Course is fantastic shape, and staff is friendliest I've encountered.

Tokatee is by far the best public golf course within an hour drive of Eugene Springfield area. The views of the snowy mountaintops in the distance. The tight cut fairways and The greens during the summer are fast!! Make sure to take some practice putts before you head out! The food at their bar is amazing and the staff are always upbeat and friendly!! I have been out there a couple times this year already plan on playing there a few more times before summer ends!!
