Rapid City Executive Golf Course Overview

Rapid City, South Dakota, USAWestern South Dakota

Rapid City Executive Golf Course presents a compact, accessible 9-hole layout featuring mostly par-3 holes with strategic creek crossings and well-maintained greens. Ideal for quick rounds or skill-building, this executive course offers a friendly atmosphere in Western South Dakota’s Rapid City.

Course Overview

Rapid City Executive Golf offers a refreshing alternative to traditional rounds with its compact, efficient layout and inviting atmosphere. Located in South Dakota’s Rapid City, this 9-hole executive course features a mix of seven par-3 holes and two par-4s, delivering a total par of 29. The design emphasizes accessibility and quick play, making it an excellent choice for golfers seeking a practical yet enjoyable round without committing to a full 18 holes.

The course’s terrain is generally flat, punctuated by a couple of creek crossings that add subtle strategic elements without overwhelming less experienced players. Greens are well-maintained and receptive, posing gentle challenges that reward precision and pace control. The fairways offer room to practice driving and approach shots, particularly on the two par-4 holes where players can engage more length and strategy. Walking the course is straightforward, contributing to a relaxed pace of play and a sense of connection with the surroundings.

Rapid City Executive Golf is especially welcoming to beginners, juniors, and golfers short on time, but still provides moments of interest for more seasoned players looking to fine-tune their short game or enjoy a casual outing. The presence of the clubhouse staff noted for friendliness and helpfulness complements the course’s approachable vibe. Green fees are affordable, making it accessible as a routine practice venue or for family outings.

Though the course keeps things simple, its charm lies in steady upkeep and community-focused service rather than architectural grandeur. Cart rentals are available but walking is highly encouraged given the course’s compact scale. The course’s layout and pace suit those who want to sharpen skills, unwind after work, or introduce newcomers to golf’s fundamentals.

For players planning their visit, comfortable footwear is advised for walking, and afternoons tend to offer the smoothest pace and conditions. Its location in Rapid City keeps it handy for locals and visitors alike who want a friendly, concise golf experience without the complexities or time demands of larger courses. Whether seeking a casual warm-up or a quick dose of golf, Rapid City Executive Golf course delivers with simplicity and practicality.

Course Highlights

The course’s distinctive mix of seven par-3 holes alongside two longer par-4s provides a balanced test focused on short game accuracy and tee shot placement. Its executive design promotes faster play without sacrificing enjoyment for all skill levels.

Nice little 9-hole, par 3 course with two par 4's mixed in for some driver work. It's well maintained every time I've been. The course is relatively easy, but fun with a couple of creek crossings and challenging greens. Easily walkable, but offers carts for those who need the assistance. The best part is the pricing and availability of tee times.

Awesome show last night!!! Thanks to everyone who worked hard so the fireworks show could go on. Was happy they were able to put on such a nice show even though it decided to rain at 9 pm.

I’ve been golfing at this course since I was 12 years old. I am now 35. I called this morning to book a teatime for my wife and my kids. The guy who answered the phone was so rude and disrespectful I couldn’t believe it. My kids and I grew up learning to play golf on this course. I was advised this morning that they would not let us all golf together mind you it’s two adults and three juniors all above the age 12 the guy would not even hear me out and completely disregarded what I had to say. He continued to be rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend this course to anybody.

This is one of my favorite courses. It's just a nice, relaxing par 29 with 7 par 3's and 2 par 4's. Clubhouse staff are very nice and good about keeping things flowing. Green fees are about where you'd expect.

This place was great! 9 hole course with only 2 par 4’s. The value is maybe the best I’ve ever had. Beers were cheap too. Staff was helpful. Greens were actually in solid shape, If I lived in the area I’d be chipping away everyday at this place.
