Reems Creek Golf Club

Weaverville, North Carolina, USAWestern North Carolina

Reems Creek Golf Club presents an 18-hole parkland layout set amid the rolling terrain of western North Carolina. Challenging yet approachable, this public course combines elevation changes, strategic bunkering, and smooth greens, delivering a rewarding experience for golfers of all levels.

Course Overview

Set against the striking backdrop of western North Carolina’s mountain terrain, Reems Creek Golf Club offers an 18-hole, public golf experience that challenges and captivates players of all skill levels. This parkland-style course takes full advantage of natural elevation shifts, weaving fairways through rolling hills, mature hardwoods, and streams that quietly define the routing. From tee to green, golfers engage with a layout that balances thoughtful shot-making and accessible playability, making it a fitting destination for novices and seasoned competitors alike.

Measuring just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, Reems Creek tests strategic decision-making rather than raw distance. A signature feature is the dramatic descent on holes such as the third and fourth, where steep drops place precision and club selection at a premium. The putting surfaces are well-maintained, offering consistent roll and contours that invite careful reading without undue frustration. Bunkers are thoughtfully placed to frame landing areas and guard approaches, introducing subtle risk-reward considerations.

Beyond the course itself, Reems Creek presents a welcoming clubhouse equipped with modern amenities, from a comfortable dining area to a lively bar and practice facilities including a driving range and putting green. Recent investments include a fleet of electric carts with GPS, enhancing pace of play and comfort amid variable weather. The staff’s attention to detail and hospitality create an atmosphere where visitors feel valued, whether stopping by for a quick round or hosting larger groups.

For golfers planning a visit, the mountain setting demands sturdy footwear and preparation for elevation changes, but walking is encouraged and thoroughly enjoyable for those who relish immersive outdoor experiences. Seasonal conditions typically allow year-round play, with the course’s resilient turfstanding up well to rain and winter chill.

Reems Creek Golf Club offers more than a game; it presents a layered encounter with terrain, challenge, and southern Appalachian charm. It’s an inviting place for players seeking an engaging round away from crowded fairways, where every shot feels part of a broader journey through nature’s quiet complexity.

Course Highlights

The course’s mountain setting creates dynamic elevation changes, notably on holes that descend sharply toward scenic greens. Electric carts with GPS complement a smooth pace of play, paired with well-maintained fairways and consistently true greens. The clubhouse atmosphere is relaxed yet attentive, supporting both casual outings and group events.

Wonderful course! If you want a great value mountain golf experience, this is the place. Survived Hurricane Helene in surprisingly good condition, compared to the other local course. Greens are smooth and regular, fairways are well filled in, and the rough gives you a US Open experience! Yardage is deceiving, 6,000 from the tips and 5500 from the 'regulars', but you won't shoot anywhere close to your index the first time you come out. Clubhouse is welcoming, with an excellent variety of food & drinks. And the owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Come out and play, you won't regret it! Well, maybe a few times when you card your third triple-bogey, but that's golf.

Reems Creek Golf club is a gem in the mountains of NC! The course is in the best shape I have seen it in the last 5 years. Fairways are beautiful. Rough… well, is rough. Greens are rolling well. They have replaced some bunkers with waste areas. And sodded over others. Many tee boxes have been replaced and most of the damage from Helene has also been addressed. Highly recommend this course.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Reems Creek Golf Club and we had the best experience! The staff were great to work with, they were communicative and laid-back which helped make the process seem easy and enjoyable! We were able to rent out the entire space -- the pickleball courts, the pool, tee-times for golfers, the driving range, the outdoor patio, and the dining area for our event which made for a great time! The sunset over the patio is spectacular and made for a great back-drop for our family speeches and music! We would highly recommend booking with Reems Creek for any event!

One of the most beautiful golf courses I have played on. Really love the change in elevation and terrain, I think hole 3 or 4 drops down about 150ft to the green. Brand new electric carts with GPS! Free water! Great mix of moderate to challenging holes, driving range nice club house, nice staff. For the price it’s a really exceptional experience. Even winter golf after a day of rain I had a great time

We brought 40 guys out to Reems Creek as part of our Don & Mike Golf Tournament, and Ally and her team absolutely crushed it. It thunderstormed all night before our round, and we honestly thought there was no way we’d be able to play. But by the time we got there, the course was ready and in amazing condition. Huge credit to the crew for getting it playable that fast—unreal. Ally was awesome. Super helpful, on top of everything, and made sure our group got out smoothly and on time. Getting 40 guys organized is no easy job, but she handled it like a pro. Reems Creek ended up being a major highlight of the trip and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Reems Creek Golf Club is a great place to play good pickleball, jump in the pool, and have a delicious meal and drinks in the clubhouse. Guests are welcome!

Flooded fairways, tee boxes have large dead spots, mud bunkers with 3 foot weeds in them, multiple large sinkholes, mold in the bathrooms, just a few of the things that could be improved on to actually want to spend money to play here. Many better golf course options around Weaverville and Asheville to truly enjoy.
