Lakeridge Golf Course

Reno, Nevada, USAWestern Nevada

Lakeridge Golf Course in Reno offers a beautifully maintained 18-hole parkland layout framed by Sierra Nevada views. The course balances approachable playability with strategic challenges, highlighted by the tricky 15th hole that demands precision and thoughtful shot-making.

Course Overview

Lakeridge Golf Course in Reno, Nevada, stands out as a meticulously maintained 18-hole layout that balances scenic beauty with strategic play. Set against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada foothills, this public course offers a parkland-style design where lush fairways weave through mature trees and gentle elevation changes that shape the rhythm of each round. The setting infuses a natural calm, enhanced by year-round open seasons and panoramic mountain vistas that shift with the light throughout the day.

The course’s 6,600 yards stretch to a par 72 that challenges golfers of varying skill levels. Precision and course management take precedence here, with well-positioned bunkers and water hazards that test decision-making rather than simply distance. Notably, the 15th hole demands careful calculation; although listed at a moderate length, the approach often plays longer thanks to the prevailing wind, rewarding strategy over sheer power.

Lakeridge’s greens roll true and fast, maintained to championship standards that encourage risk and reward maneuvers across a varied landscape of subtle breaks and tiers. The fairways invite a balanced game, with enough width to allow confidence off the tee while still demanding thoughtful positioning to avoid penal rough and hazards. This combination makes the course approachable for intermediate players, yet engaging for low handicaps seeking to sharpen their short game and course creativity.

The clubhouse offers inviting amenities including a well-appointed pro shop and dining with sweeping views of the course and surrounding peaks. Golfers will find a welcoming atmosphere complemented by walking-friendly cart paths and courteous staff who support both casual rounds and tournament play.

Whether visiting for a quick round or a full day of golf, Lakeridge Golf Course rewards with a well-rounded experience that respects the landscape and the nuances of shot-making. Its maintained conditions, strategic interest, and scenic setting make it a memorable stop for anyone exploring golf in the Reno area.

Course Highlights

Lakeview has officially become my favorite golf course—hands down. I’ve played in some incredible places, including Hilton Head, but nothing has stuck with me the way this course has. The layout is thoughtful, the views are unbeatable, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a day out on the course. The 15th hole in particular blew me away. I genuinely enjoyed it more than any hole I played at Hilton Head. There’s just something special about it—the challenge, the scenery, the way it plays. It’s the kind of hole you think about long after the round is over. If you're golfing in the Reno area, Lakeview is a must. Already looking forward to the next round.

Lakeridge Golf Course is proof that Duncan Golf knows what they’re doing. The place is spotless — fairways are perfect, greens are rolling quick (about a 10 when I played), and the whole course looks like someone actually cares… because they do. It’s seriously one of the cleanest, most well-groomed courses around. But fair warning — hole 15 is a liar. They will tell you the yardage, But reality? That sucker plays 200 all day long. Club up, save yourself the headache, and enjoy watching everyone else come up short. Beautiful course, great condition, solid challenge… what more do you need?

We came on a short golf trip to celebrate Fathers Day. It wasn't easy even though I chose the same course for two days. However, the course was so beautiful and the mountains and hazards were properly placed that it was fun regardless of the score. We joined men from Reno both days and they were all friendly and fun. I'm sure your memories of Reno will be so good.

Don't understand the recent 5 star reviews. Two stars cuz its a nice layout. Played July 16th. Been playing lakeridge for 40 years. Used to be a great course where you were proud to bring your friends. Here's a rundown: Greens are in good condition. Fairways awful. Rough, ok. Aprons around greens bad, sand traps terrible, marmot holes everywhere. Not sure if there sprinkler system needs repairs. Dry in some spots, soaked in others. And no driving range..... Makes me wonder if the course is for sale!! Lastly, the Marshall today, Don, was hovering around our group for a few holes. Our pace of play was good. Never held up the group behind us. Weren't misbehaving. We made it clear he was making us uptight. Didn't seem to matter. Came close to completely ruining our day. Won't be back!
