Beaver Brook Golf Course

Haydenville, Massachusetts, USAWestern Massachusetts

Beaver Brook Golf Course offers a friendly 9-hole public layout in Haydenville, Massachusetts, combining accessible play with gently rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways. Paired with Dot’s Golf Bar & Restaurant, it provides a well-rounded outing for casual golfers and locals alike.

Course Overview

Beaver Brook Golf Course offers a distinctive 9-hole layout that caters to players seeking a relaxed yet engaging round. As a public course located in Haydenville, Massachusetts, it balances accessibility with a setting that feels both unpretentious and inviting. The course unfolds through gently rolling terrain, combining tree-lined fairways with open stretches that encourage thoughtful shot placement and pace management.

Set against a backdrop of natural woodland and small water features, Beaver Brook presents a straightforward layout that appeals to golfers of varying skill levels. The par-3 and par-4 holes challenge players to find the correct lines off the tee, while shorter approach shots demand accuracy more than length. The course’s approachable design makes it an ideal candidate for beginners and those looking for a casual round, yet it still offers subtle complexities that keep mid-handicap players engaged.

Adjunct to the golf experience is Dot’s Golf Bar & Restaurant, located at 183 Main Street, providing a friendly spot to unwind with food and drinks after play. Known for its comfortable atmosphere and reasonably priced menu, Dot’s offers classic American fare complemented by a well-stocked bar, making it a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The clubhouse renovation has transformed the venue into a clean, welcoming space where golfers can relax and share stories from the course.

While Beaver Brook may not feature extensive landscaping or championship-length yardage—measuring under 3,000 yards total—the course’s charm lies in its approachable character and community focus. Walking is encouraged here, allowing players to engage directly with the landscape. Shoes with good traction will help navigate modest elevation changes and occasional wet ground conditions.

Visitors should be aware that the course atmosphere can grow lively during summer weekends, due in part to social events hosted on site. This adds a spirited energy but may impact those seeking a quiet round. Golfers planning a visit will find Beaver Brook ideal for a quick game paired with a casual dining experience, representing a regional gem for everyday play rather than tournament challenge.

Course Highlights

Beaver Brook features a straightforward 9-hole layout framed by mature trees and subtle water hazards that introduce strategic options without overwhelming the player. Dot’s Golf Bar & Restaurant serves as a hub for food and socializing, enhancing the overall experience. The course’s approachable length and terrain invite players new to golf as well as regulars seeking a relaxed round in a community-focused setting.

Love the work ya'll are doing for the course but I have one thing to say. Could ya'll please stop having the American flag on your pins? Watching golfers take the pin out of the holes and setting the flag on the ground really irritates me. We don't put the flag on the ground, that's no Bueno, and against the federal Flag Code. Please take the flags off the pins.

Glad it is being sold. 4/28/2025 there was a group of 6 belligerent, intoxicated, men associated in some fashion with the current owner. Driving all over the course with a dog playing golf while being confrontational, and harassing golfers on the course while driving up to them and screaming and threatening them and constantly being in the way and having no remorse for anyone else on the course. It was absolutely disgusting behavior for a golf course and while I am sure nothing will be done at least it is now documented.

I live almost right across the street from this place. Throughout the summer they constantly host parties and blast loud music through the night. Everyone living near Beaver Brook agrees that it's a nightmare, and I'm glad that The Trustees and Hilltown Land Trust are buying the property. Would most definitely prefer a calm, serene hiking area that is open to the public over whatever it is currently.

This place is a beautiful 9-hole experience. The bar & restaurant are clean, well maintained, and really fair prices. If you live in the area or are just traveling like me. This is a 10/10 experience between food, golf and the simulator.

They have done a fantastic job remodeling the club house and turning it into a very nice restaurant as well. They serve mainly comfort style/American cuisine and they also have a very nice Sunday Brunch that is reasonably priced 👍 I recently had one of their specials, a Reuben, and it was pretty tasty. The only negative I have, is that I thought it could have used a bit more meat. My wife had another one of their sandwiche specials and she was a little disappointed. She had a Turkey, Bacon and Avocado, she found it a little bland and I guess she was expecting sliced Turkey, not deli meat. We've been there a few times already and plan on going back. The restaurant is called Dot's Golf Bar and Restaurant. Oh yeah, they also have a full bar and that is very nice with a very nice selection.

Relatively challenging course. Most of the time the course is in good shape, but don't visit after a heavy rain.
