Redlands, Colorado, USAWestern Colorado

Tiara Rado Golf Course presents a challenging yet approachable 18-hole layout carved into the natural rock formations of Redlands. Players will find striking views paired with carefully designed fairways and greens that reward accuracy and strategic play.

Course Overview

Tiara Rado Golf Course in Redlands, Colorado, offers a compelling blend of challenge and scenic beauty across its 18 holes. This public course stretches over approximately 6,400 yards with a par of 72, making it an engaging test for a broad range of golfers. Set against a backdrop of the Colorado Plateau’s dramatic rock formations and sweeping vistas, the course presents a visually arresting landscape where golfing demands meet nature's rugged character.

The layout emphasizes strategic shot-making, with fairways that often narrow between natural rock outcroppings and stands of ponderosa pine. These elements require golfers to control accuracy off the tee, especially on holes that curve gently or test distance with elevation changes. The greens, while receptive, encourage precision with undulations that reward well-judged approach shots and careful putting.

Playability fits a broad spectrum of players. While low-handicap golfers will find opportunities to challenge their ball-striking and short game, the course remains approachable with a thoughtful routing that avoids intimidation. Ample tee options allow novices and intermediate players to enjoy their round without overwhelming difficulty.

Tiara Rado is notable for its welcoming atmosphere and well-maintained conditioning throughout most of the season. The course infrastructure includes a clubhouse offering essential amenities and a casual spot to relax after your round, with staff recognized for their friendly service. Walking the course can be a delight, with wide paths suited for those who prefer to experience the terrain fully on foot, though some slopes merit appropriate footwear and attention.

While some recent reviews note sections of the course needing maintenance and temporary greens set on fairways, the overall experience retains its charm and practical appeal. Ideal for visitors and locals alike, Tiara Rado delivers satisfying golf framed by one of Colorado’s most striking natural settings.

Course Highlights

The course stands out for its integration with natural volcanic rock formations that influence hole design and sight lines. Signature holes include those weaving through narrow fairways framed by towering cliffs, demanding shot control and course management. The desert mountain style layout benefits from wide elevation shifts that offer panoramic views of the Colorado Plateau while challenging shot distance and club selection.

Love this local course. Beautiful views and great friendly staff. Nice to just chill on the patio at the clubhouse. A little confusing on the back nine if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Course is in rough shape. 3 greens are closed. Temp green are in the fairway and grass is weeds mostly. There are fairways on this course like 10 and 18, where the grass doesn't grow very well over the last 5 years

This is a pretty nice course. It can be very challenging to players who have fades or draws that aren't consistent. Fairways are tight, not a bad thing. Grass is in pretty good shape for it being the beginning of the season last time I went. Very nice course at a very good price.

This course was in beautiful shape in all respects. Green are smooth and true and the fairways well-groomed even if I didn't see that much of them! The course will challenge the average player and hitting straight is a definite asset. However for the average golfer course will provide opportunities to score well and to challenge yourself. The drainage ditches and irrigation canals crisscrossing the course should be carefully observed has a ball hit at the wrong distance can easily disappear in the Swift currents. The staff was excellent and even with a charity tournament played on the morning of my round they had everything well planned and turned around in time for the afternoon players. Excellent value for the money and you cannot beat the incredible views of the monument! UPDATE May 2025 - The course is now in horrible shape having suffered from severe lack of water during the winter. Most greens are more bare dirt than grass, fairways have large dead areas that don't seem to be coming back, Tee boxes are severely pockmarked. I hate to say it as it is my home course, but for the better part of 2025, you are better off paying somewhere else in the Valley if you are looking for good course conditions.
