Rancho Park Golf Course & Driving Range

Los Angeles, California, USAWest Los Angeles

Rancho Park Golf Course & Driving Range offers a welcoming 18-hole parkland layout in West Los Angeles, combining well-maintained fairways and challenging bunkers with an expansive, double-decked driving range. Ideal for players seeking accessible golf and serious practice opportunities within the city’s vibrant landscape.

Course Overview

Rancho Park Golf Course & Driving Range, located at 10460 W Pico Blvd in Los Angeles, offers a distinct blend of accessible golf and urban scenery within a public 18-hole layout. Designed with a classic parkland feel, this course presents a variety of par 4s that challenge accuracy while inviting golfers of all skill levels to engage confidently with the game. Its terrain unfolds relatively flat with well-maintained fairways bordered by bunkers that demand thoughtful strategy rather than raw power.

The course is complemented by a well-equipped double-decked driving range that serves as a cornerstone for golfers aiming to fine-tune their swing. The expansive range features ample space between bays and a practical policy allowing only irons on the upper deck to ensure safety. Balls are thoughtfully dispersed across the driving area, providing a realistic practice environment, though players will find the occasional cluster of range balls scattered on holes 9 and 18, adding an unexpected element to those final approaches.

Rancho Park’s location in West Los Angeles makes it convenient for players seeking a practical golf option without sacrificing quality. The course’s conditions consistently receive praise, with lush greens and bunkers maintained to support solid playability. However, some rough areas around the course can be less forgiving, emphasizing positional play off the tee. Friendly pace of play is frequently noted, with rounds generally completed in under five hours, even on busy weekends.

For those preparing a visit, the facility welcomes walk-on players and offers rental clubs, making it an excellent choice for newcomers or visitors who wish to leave their gear behind. The driving range’s popularity can lead to wait times during peak hours, so early visits or weekday mornings often provide a more relaxed experience.

While Rancho Park may not feature dramatic elevation changes or ocean vistas, its urban charm combined with thoughtful maintenance and approachable course design offer a refreshing environment for players seeking a balanced round. The course’s accessibility coupled with an inviting practice area provides a solid foundation for both leisure golfers and dedicated players to sharpen their skills amidst the city’s vibrant pulse.

Fine driving range and fair prices. But Rancho should put a time limit on lanes when the range is full. Too many people buying jumbo buckets and camping out for 2 hours or refilling their buckets without giving up their lane. Not a problem most of the time, but you'll end up waiting 45 min to an hour some nights to get a spot.

A blessing for the west side to have a public course and practice facility like this. The golf course features lots of classic par 4’s. Nothing too spicy in its design though still has good variety.

This place is simply lovely. I haven't played the big 18 yet, but I can vouch for the driving range and the 9 hole course, which are both tip top.

Very well maintained green and bunker. Fairway condition is good as well. If your shot missed the fairway, you may need to play on the dirty ground. Played Sunday at 10 a.m., and the pace was great. Took 4 1/2 hrs. If you have a color ball, you should play with that at Hole #9 and #18. Range balls are spread all over the fairway. The range balls are also white.😅

If you are new to golf 🏌🏼‍♂️, then you know you will be spending lots of time in the driving range to improve your game. This is probably the best driving range in West LA. The place is clean, grasses are well maintained, has plenty of parking and is fairly priced, you could get 100 balls for $10 (credit cards accepted). Also, this place is double-decked with plenty of space between each bay. There will be club rentals if you don't have your own. As a side note, the golf course is definitely picture worthy during sunset 🌇! Overall, I am not going to bash on this driving range just because the place is crowded. It's probably crowded because the place is well run. I have been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed my time here. TIPS: If you decide to play on the second floor, please note that only irons are allowed to prevent accidents.

Tee times are impossible to find early in the day and the place is falling apart. Pipes are broken and new breaks seem to be happening all the time. Tee boxes are chewed up, I don't believe divots are repaired. The driving range is always busy, I dont even try to warmup before my round. The chipping area is a disaster. The practice putting areas are actually pretty decent. There is no pro-shop, just the temporary trailer since the old clubhouse building is closed and nothing is being done to bring it back.
