Course Overview

The Landings Golf & Country Club in Clearwater, Florida, offers an approachable 18-hole layout that balances practicality with quiet charm. Situated just off 1875 Airport Drive and adjacent to the Clearwater airport, this public course provides a unique backdrop where the rhythms of departing and arriving planes mingle with the measured cadence of swings and putts. The course stretches over a modest yardage, inviting players of all skill levels to engage in a round free from intimidation yet rich in subtle challenge.

Designed to serve as both a welcoming introduction to golf and a venue for steady improvement, The Landings features well-maintained greens that react predictably, making it easier for newcomers to read breaks while still demanding precision from more practiced golfers. Its fairways are wide enough to promote a smooth flow of play, and the bunkers appear as purposeful obstacles guarding critical scoring zones rather than overwhelming hazards. While the course is not sprawling or densely forested, its open, accessible layout encourages confident swings and strategic club selection.

A standout aspect of The Landings is its fully grassed driving range, a feature that golfers often seek out for authentic practice conditions. Unlike ranges dominated by mats, this facility allows players to build rhythm from real turf—an invaluable advantage when honing approach shots. The pitching and putting areas are expansive, offering ample room to refine short-game techniques in a relaxed setting.

The club fosters a friendly, local atmosphere that embraces casual play without sacrificing standards of course care. It’s an ideal stop for those looking to improve their game without the pressures of a high-profile venue. Although the course’s proximity to the airport injects an occasional burst of energy into the air, it never distracts from the focus required to navigate each hole. Walking the course is straightforward, and players are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes suitable for flat terrain.

For golfers seeking a no-frills yet thoughtfully maintained environment, The Landings delivers consistent playability, inviting rounds that combine practice with quiet enjoyment amid a distinctive Florida setting.

Short course, great for practice. Greens stay manicured. Range gets a little beat by snow birds and locals.

Great local golf course. First what it is: Great place if you're trying to grab a walk on t time. Great place if your newer to golf and don't want to break the bank paying big green fees. Great driving range off real grass. What it lacks is technicals.

Great course to work on your short game. Tee boxes were crowned but the rest of the course was in good shape. I'll play this course anytime.

Played a quick round of golf in the late afternoon. Starter got me out quickly. Course has been in rough shape for some time, but appears to be improving slowly over time. I go to the range here often, because this is one of the very few ranges that has grass hitting area rather than mats. The putting green is in good shape and the pitching area is ample size.

Great little 18 hole course with good greens. Staff is friendly. Fun place to have a round. Having Clearwater airport right next door makes it an added attraction watching small aircraft takeoff and land throughout the round.
