Course Overview

Set against the varied terrain of Midway, Utah, Homestead Golf Club delivers an 18-hole experience that balances natural ruggedness with thoughtful course conditioning. This public course weaves through a landscape that shifts from open fairways to pockets of dense foliage, offering players a taste of mountain-influenced golf without the altitude extremes of Utah’s high country. The layout invites golfers of all skill levels to engage with strategically placed bunkers and approachable greens that reward well-planned shots and steady putting.

Playability is a strong suit here. The fairways are broad enough to encourage confident drives, yet subtle undulations and well-guarded greens present enough challenge to keep more experienced players sharp. The interplay between water hazards and sand traps adds visual interest while shaping how each hole must be approached. Throughout the course, the conditioning has shown noticeable improvement in recent seasons, with smoother putting surfaces and healthier turf lending to a more consistent round.

The natural surroundings contribute little distraction and much to appreciate. Pine stands provide shade and framing, while glimpses of the Wasatch Mountains underline a quiet, focused atmosphere. The gentle, often cooling winds factor into club selection and shot trajectory, especially on the more exposed holes.

Homestead Golf Course has always been a favorite of mine, but I was particularly impressed with the recent changes during my last visit. The new owners have clearly invested a lot of time and effort into revitalizing the course, and it shows. This time around, I only had time to play the front nine, but even in that short span, the improvements were evident. The fairways were in excellent shape, with lush grass that made for a smooth and enjoyable round. The greens were just as impressive, rolling true and fast, reflecting the care and attention the new management has been putting into the course’s upkeep. One of the highlights of this visit was the pace of play. Sometimes, you can find yourself stuck behind slower groups, but that wasn’t the case here. The flow of the game was perfect, allowing me to really savor each hole without feeling rushed or held up. Overall, it’s exciting to see the direction the Homestead Golf Course is heading under its new ownership. The front nine left me eager to return and play the full 18, knowing that the course is in such great hands. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Just played this course for the first time, and let me tell you, one of the MOST gorgeous courses I’ve ever played here in Utah! The staff was so friendly and the conditions were prime! I even had the opportunity to chat with nick and he was the best! If you are looking for a great experience and some challenging yet fun golf this is a great recommendation!

Course is nice, but left a lot to be desired for $85. No water in the club/ball wash in the cart. No sand in the divot repair containers. Standing water in almost all the sand traps. Had to walk through a swamp near most greens. Ground under repair literally everywhere. A lot of potential but I'm really disappointed with the money I spent to play here.

I’ve always loved this course. We live in the Salt Lake valley and we visit this course frequently. However my foursome was mighty disappointed in the service we received both in the pro shop and the snake shop. The guys in the clubhouse need to find another job, they literally didn’t say one thing to the 4 of us. But it’s the snake shop the was disappointing. One girl in particular, her name is Camrie was absolutely horrid. Her attitude and professionalism towards us was terrible. All for of us own our business and we would never hire or continue to employ someone like her. She was the rudest person we’ve ever encountered at a golf course. We would hope that Homestead would hire people that would be better suited to handle customers like us.

One of if not my favorite course in Utah. Beautiful location year round with vey well maintained grounds. It’s a challenging course but very satisfying when playing well. You can tell the pros and greens keepers really care about the course and the experience i”of playing the course and just makes for a great day of golf. 10/10
