Pebble Creek Golf Course

Taylors, South Carolina, USAUpstate South Carolina

Pebble Creek Golf Course in Taylors, SC, offers a straightforward, 18-hole parkland layout that emphasizes accessible play and natural surroundings. Its steady pace and modest design make it a solid choice for mid-level golfers seeking an affordable round close to Greenville.

Course Overview

Pebble Creek Golf Course, located in Taylors, South Carolina, offers a straightforward and accessible 18-hole layout appealing primarily to mid-level and casual golfers. The course reflects a traditional parkland style, featuring gently rolling terrain lined with mature trees that provide a green backdrop for each hole. Though the design avoids extreme elevation changes or coastal elements, the setting feels relaxed and familiar, framed by natural vegetation rather than extravagant landscaping.

Condition-wise, Pebble Creek has shown consistent improvement in recent years. While tee boxes and some fairways remain uneven in spots, the greens roll true enough to encourage strategic putting. Drainage is generally reliable, even shortly after rains, although subtle soft ground and slower green speeds can affect playability. Players should note that cart paths wind alongside each hole, supporting a comfortable round whether walking or riding.

The course’s pace of play is often brisk due to lighter crowds, making it a go-to spot for golfers seeking a casual, less pressured round on most days. Equipment rentals and reasonably maintained carts are available, though amenities like water stations have occasionally fallen behind in upkeep. The clubhouse is modest but welcoming, providing a convenient hub for members and guests alike.

Pebble Creek’s layout invites a balance of shot-making and course management rather than demanding flawless execution. The holes avoid extreme risk-reward scenarios, favoring straightforward play with occasional challenges from tree-lined fairways and modest bunkers guarding greens. This approach suits a broad range of players seeking recreation rather than championship-level rigor.

For golfers planning a visit, sturdy golf shoes are recommended due to some uneven turf conditions. Weekday mornings and late afternoons usually offer the quietest experience, with ample opportunities to enjoy the game uninterrupted. Though not a traditional showcase course, Pebble Creek remains a viable choice for affordable, no-frills golf within the Greenville area.

Overall, the course maintains a steady character centered on accessible golf amid natural surroundings, providing an enjoyable experience without pretense or complexity.

Pebble has been an average good price course in the area. It was rough a few years ago but has come up a bit in conditions. The greens roll fine, but I wouldn't consider them spectacular. The fairways were not well defined or different much from the rough. The tee boxes are rough in a lot of places. Overall, though, it's a nice layout. The carts are decent, and the pace of play is usually quick. Scores out of 10 Club house 6.6 Carts 6.8 Tee boxes 5.9 Fairways 6.2 Greens 6.1 Course Layout 6.7 Pace of play 6.1 Overall: 6.42 / 10

Played a few days after heavy rains. Course appeared to drain well, but the greens felt kinda spongy, and hadn't been mowed. Greens were a little slow and bumpy. Overall, staff is friendly, pretty good value, really like the Berkshire side

One of my favorite local courses to play. Usually not too crowded, so the pace of play is good. Docking one star as some amenities (the water stations) are in a bit of disrepair but there are signs of improvement.

Price is way to high for poor tee boxes and terrible greens. They also just throw people randomly out and don’t force pairing to keep play of game flowing. Been coming here since I was in high school and it just keeps getting worse and more expensive would not recommend. Go play Lakeview $40 and way better conditions they actually maintain their greens also $2 beers

The course is constantly flooded after rain. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Called on 5/7/25 to ask if they could look for a Calloway pullover I left in the cart. The guy who answered clearly didn’t want to help. Said he looked for it but stated back the wrong clothing item so he obviously didn’t look for what I asked. Then he hung up on me. Not sure if he was too busy or something else but it certainly didn’t make me feel like he cared. I’d love to talk with someone who can help.

This course was full of the rudest group of old golfers on a course I’ve ever met. Then single golfers who use a laser sight and take 3 practice swings and still hit it 30 yards, then I get harassed by another old guy behind me yelling fore so that he could hit into me while I was waiting on Mr. Laser. Slow golf, bad golf, lousy tee boxes, poor layout, the list goes on and on. We live 2 miles from this golf course and I’m sad to say I will not be returning.
