Fox Run Country Club

Simpsonville, South Carolina, USAUpstate South Carolina

Fox Run Country Club's 18-hole private layout blends lush parkland terrain with strategic playability, offering a rewarding challenge set against tranquil ponds and towering trees. Known for its smooth greens and southern hospitality, it welcomes golfers aiming to test precision in a classic setting.

Course Overview

Fox Run Country Club in Simpsonville, South Carolina, offers a classic 18-hole private golf experience where Southern charm meets thoughtful course design. Winding through a landscape marked by mature trees, serene ponds, and carefully maintained fairways, Fox Run balances a welcoming atmosphere with strategic elements that test players across all skill levels. The course’s parkland style presents a blend of wide, forgiving fairways and challenging greens that require precise approach shots and steady putting.

From the first tee, golfers are invited to engage with a layout that encourages both confident drives and tactical decision-making. The fairways’ generous width is offset by strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that demand respect, especially on mid- and long-range holes. Approach shots must navigate subtle undulations and well-placed greenside bunkers, adding variety without overwhelming the golfer.

Particularly noteworthy is the 12th hole, which demands careful club selection and shot execution to avoid the trouble lurking near the green. The closing 18th hole ramps up the excitement with a layout that challenges endurance and technique, culminating a round that rewards focus and adaptability. Greens at Fox Run receive high praise for their speed and smoothness, lending a satisfying pace to putts and encouraging bold lines.

Although the club is private and access is by invitation, its community-driven environment shines through in both the maintenance of the course and the attentiveness of the staff. The clubhouse serves as a comfortable hub with dining options that capture the warmth and hospitality for which the South is known. Those planning to walk the course will find the terrain manageable, with firm footing underfoot and ample opportunity to enjoy the natural setting without interruption.

Fox Run is well suited for players who seek a brisk yet diverse challenge framed by a peaceful, verdant setting. Whether you are a serious competitor or a recreational player chasing improvement, the course presents a welcome platform for refining every aspect of your game. Travelers looking to experience a polished golf outing with a distinctly Southern flavor will find Fox Run a memorable destination in the heart of Simpsonville.

Course Highlights

Fox Run features verdant fairways lined with mature hardwoods, ponds that come into play on several holes, and greens with subtle breaks that reward careful reading. The 12th stands out for its blend of risk and reward, while the finishing hole demands focus with a precise tee shot over water. The clubhouse combines southern hospitality with convenient amenities, making it a hub for members and guests alike.

Well, howdy there, folks! Gather 'round and let me tell you about my recent adventure at the Fox Run Country Club in the charming town of Simpsonville, South Carolina. Let me tell ya, it was a real hoot! First things first, the drive up to the club was as smooth as my homemade gravy on Thanksgiving Day. The entrance greets you like an old friend with its picturesque scenery, and let me tell you, the grass is greener than my lawn after a good summer rain. The clubhouse stands tall and proud like a patriotic eagle, ready to welcome golfers of all ages and abilities. Now, let's talk about the course. The 18-hole beauty stretches out like a cat basking in the sun. Each hole has its own unique personality, kinda like my kids. Some are straightforward and easy-going, while others are trickier than getting my teenage son to mow the lawn. But don't you worry, there's something here for everyone, from the seasoned pro to the weekend warrior just looking to whack a few balls and maybe enjoy a cold one afterward. The fairways are as wide as Aunt Marge's hugs, and the greens? Well, they’re smoother than butter on a hot biscuit. I had a bit of trouble with that darn 12th hole – it’s a doozy, but hey, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it, right? And speaking of doing it, bring your A-game to the 18th! That final hole is as dramatic as a soap opera cliffhanger, and it'll have you on the edge of your seat. The staff at Fox Run? They’re friendlier than a puppy at a picnic. Always there with a smile and a “How ya doin’?” that makes you feel right at home. And after a good round, you can head on over to the clubhouse for a bite to eat. Their burgers are juicier than my wife’s homemade apple pie, and trust me, that’s saying something! So if you find yourself in Simpsonville with a hankering for some golf and good times, head on over to Fox Run Country Club. It's a slice of Americana with a side of Southern hospitality that'll have you coming back for seconds, just like my famous barbecue ribs. Swing on by, folks, you won't regret it!

Really beautiful course. Enjoyed the layout and challenge and used almost all of the clubs in my bag. If I lived closer I’d play far more often there.

Some beautiful spots, but I visited after the storm so I can't do the place justice until I see it in its glory.
