Course Overview
Rolling Green Golf Course offers a rugged and challenging test across its 27 holes, spread over three distinctive nines in Easley, South Carolina. This public facility provides a blend of undulating terrain and natural features that shape its uneven playing surface. The course’s layout features tight fairways often bordered by bare patches and roots, demanding precision off the tee and strategic course management. Players quickly notice the unique character of the red-dirt fairways, which vary between compact clay and softer soil, requiring careful shot selection and adaptability.
Greens at Rolling Green present a complex challenge with varied speeds and subtle breaks. Some are well maintained but inconsistent, with puddled areas after rain that test every putt and read. Expect an unpredictable roll where the ball may slow or accelerate unexpectedly. Though the greens demand patience and attention, they remain one of the facility’s stronger features, encouraging refined putting skills.
The surrounding landscape is marked by hilly elevations and narrow corridors. These features create distinct risk-reward moments, where errant shots often find trouble quickly. Despite these challenges, the course retains an approachable edge for golfers who come prepared for its quirks and conditions. Rolling Green appeals to those looking for an affordable, no-frills experience removed from busier regional golf venues.
Walkers should be mindful of the course’s terrain, as steep inclines and uneven surfaces call for sturdy footwear and a good level of fitness. While golf carts are available, walking rewards players with a keen sense of the property’s rugged character.
Amenities include a clubhouse with basic services and friendly staff noted for their helpfulness, creating a welcoming environment despite the course’s rough edges. With 27 holes, golfers can combine nines for varying experiences or play just 18 to focus on a single challenge. Rolling Green may lack some polish of higher-end courses but compensates with authentic character and a test that can appeal to players seeking a distinctive round in the Easley area.
Course Highlights
Rolling Green stands out for its vibrant red-dirt fairways that fluctuate in firmness, providing a unique playing surface rarely found in the region. Somewhat challenging course, tee boxes are right next to greens and be ready to get played into... even when you are teeing off. Tee boxes are decent, can't complain. Fairways - red dirt, and when you least expect it, decent grass. Nothing consistent. Hard to get under a ball when it's compact clay. When you adjust, it's decent dirt that feels like soup. Greens look well maintained, but somehow move slow, until i adjust.... then the ball acts like it has a booster. hard to get a read cause they sway in alot of directions. I hear grass blades killing my ball on most greens. This course needs construction. I don't hate it, staff is great. Hitting out of the rough was easier than hitting on the fairways. The layout is nice, challenging at times very easy at others. Needs major work to be a 4 star course. Would play again if they put some money into it.

Wish I could give this course zero stars. There was a needle in my cart. The fairways are all weeds and are boarder line unplayable. The rough is all roots and dirt. The greens are one of the only bright spots of this course but even then there are puddles on the green and every green is a different speed. Would not recommend this course to anybody

I'm only giving this place a 1 star went this morning to play 18 holes was having the game of my life until the golf course police (ranger) rolls up and tells me and my group that we are holding people up and we was by ourselves 2 holes ahead of anyone behind us and do you think he waited until we was done with the hole no stops us in the middle of the putt to tell us this crap then goes just enjoy your money and speed up what a joke of a golf course, won't never be back way better gold courses in the area to give my money too for a good round of golf

Fun course to play away from the hustle and bustle of Greenville and Easley. Not a country club but a golf club. Play affordable golf and you can play 27 holes.

Very hilly and some narrow Fairways that slant directly to trouble. Greens had Some bare spots. OK to play if the price is right via deals.

Greens in great condition! Ignore other reviews re fairways condition. One or two areas may be unplayable but almost all 27 holes in great shape!
