Course Overview
Creekside Golf Course offers an 18-hole layout designed for players who appreciate a straightforward, approachable experience. Set in Lavalette, West Virginia, this public course presents a traditional parkland style marked by gently rolling fairways and a mix of mature trees that frame the holes without overwhelming the play. The terrain creates a steady rhythmic flow, encouraging golfers to maintain focus on shot placement rather than forced power swings.
The course’s moderate length invites a broad range of players, from beginners looking to develop foundational skills to mid-handicappers seeking manageable challenges. The fairways offer generous landing areas, while the greens, though reported as occasionally uneven, present true putting surfaces demanding an attentive touch. Creekside’s bunkers are positioned strategically around the greens, acting as cautious guardians that reward careful approach shots.
Scenic views unfold sporadically, with subtle rises and depressions revealing glimpses of local woodlands and the surrounding West Virginia landscape. While the layout doesn’t push aggressive risk-reward designs, the natural topography combines with tree-lined corridors to engage players in a thoughtful game of precision and tempo.
Beyond the course itself, Creekside extends a welcoming clubhouse environment featuring casual dining and social areas. The patio space presents a relaxed setting with views overlooking the course, ideal for post-round reflection or enjoying a meal with fellow golfers. While some guests have encountered inconsistent service and course conditions, many appreciate the friendly atmosphere and the well-maintained cart paths that ease course navigation.
For visitors considering a round, Creekside offers a walkable course with firm footing throughout and minimal elevation shifts, making comfortable footwear essential. Early mornings or late afternoons avoid the busier periods, allowing for a more leisurely pace and quieter surroundings. Players seeking a no-frills golf outing in a calm, wooded setting will find Creekside Golf Course a solid choice within the Tri-State area’s offering.
Ultimately, Creekside invites golfers to engage in a game grounded in discipline and straightforward enjoyment, where the land’s subtle contours guide each swing and the challenge grows with every hole played.

Have only been here the 1 time. I liked the food, there was music, plenty of seating and it looked like they had a nice area outside to set and be around fire pits. Everyone was nice. It's not right off the main road, I was worried I was on the wrong road getting there but we wasn't.

I’ve played a lot of golf courses across the region, and unfortunately, Creek Side stands out but not in a good way. The course was in poor condition from start to finish. Fairways were overgrown and the greens were patchy and uneven. What really sealed the deal for me, though, was the staff. From the moment I arrived, I was met with indifference, and the so-called “Director of Golf Management” was particularly rude. I’ve never felt less welcome at a course and I was paying to be there. I genuinely can’t recommend this course to anyone. At this point, I’d rather light my money on fire than spend it at Creek Side again. If they put half as much effort into the course as they do into being unhelpful, it might be worth a visit someday but until then, steer clear. Pictures below are the greens. This is just two examples but every green looked like this.

Played there today for the first time. Course was in great shape, greens were a little slow but did not detract from a great experience. The Course is absolutely beautiful. The cart paths are the best I've ever seen. Had some food afterwards, burger was top notch, fresh cut fries were excellent also. Nice view from the outside tables at the restaurant. Overall a great time was had. Will definitely be back.

Great staff! Always take good care of their greens. Tee boxes could use leveling, but my favorite local course by far. See you soon!

Easily the worst dining experience we’ve had in the tri-state area. Four of us dined, and all four meals arrived cold. The sides tasted like something straight out of a hospital cafeteria. I ordered a medium-rare steak and received it well done. Our server was clearly new but genuinely tried her best — unfortunately, effort couldn’t make up for the overall experience. One person in our group barely touched their food, yet the plate was never cleared or even acknowledged, sitting untouched with only one bite taken. Even ordering a simple rum and Coke or Jack and Coke seemed to cause confusion. It was a Sunday evening at dinner time, and the place was nearly empty — we quickly found out why. We actually joked about asking them to microwave our meals just to warm them up, but none of us trusted the kitchen enough to send anything back. We left completely disappointed. Safe to say we won’t be returning, and we’ll be warning others that this place is not worth the risk.
