RedHawk Public Golf Course

Nampa, Idaho, USATreasure Valley

RedHawk Public Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho offers an 18-hole desert layout featuring firm fairways, undulating greens, and a thoughtful blend of water and sand hazards. Its accessible design welcomes a broad spectrum of golfers seeking a strategic round within Idaho’s Treasure Valley.

Course Overview

RedHawk Public Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho, offers an engaging 18-hole layout that balances challenge with accessibility, making it a strong choice for golfers across all skill levels. This semi-arid desert course stretches over 7,200 yards from the back tees, demanding strategic shot-making with a mix of wide fairways, significant water hazards, and bunkers that protect the greens. The landscape blends open expanses with clusters of native vegetation and water features, creating a setting that tests accuracy while rewarding thoughtful play.

Players encounter firm and fast fairways that encourage aggressive drives, yet they must carefully navigate the undulating greens which are notably quick and contoured. These greens are the focal point for many holes and require steady nerves and precise putting to avoid costly three-putts. The pace of play is generally steady, aided by nine-minute tee time intervals, though the back nine can become more demanding on timing given its complexity.

RedHawk supports golfers with a well-maintained driving range and a dedicated short-game practice area, allowing players to hone their skills before stepping onto the course. Despite its solid golf infrastructure, amenities remain straightforward, with limited food options and no beverage service on the course — an aspect players should prepare for during their visit. Bringing water and snacks is advisable to stay hydrated and focused, especially during warmer months.

The course’s open setting means players will contend with occasional wind, which adds another layer of strategic consideration on longer shots. The flat terrain makes walking manageable, though the firm surfaces and exposed sun suggest good footwear and sun protection. RedHawk's value proposition is clear: a rewarding layout that challenges while remaining approachable, paired with excellent practice facilities and reasonable green fees.

For those seeking a desert golfing experience in Idaho’s Treasure Valley, RedHawk presents a course that blends natural elements and thoughtful design, delivering an enjoyable round without the need for intricate memberships or reservations. Whether sharpening your short game or testing your long irons, the course invites focus and creativity, immersing golfers in a setting that emphasizes shot selection and pace management.

Course Highlights

The marshal or what the call The ambassador at Redhawk did not do much if anything i observed for a group to fall 2 holes behind. Regardless if the rushed players this course is set up to have a 3 hr back 9. Expect to play the front o on pace and the back 9 to take your life.

Great golf course, but the club members are super obnoxious. Some of the worst I've ran into. Will say the employees are great though.

This course is really nice and well kept. Can be challenging depending what tee box you’re hitting from. Lots of sand and lots of water. The driving range and chipping green are great here. $79 for a round with a cart at the time of this review. Probably the best thing is they do 9 minute splits in between groups which helped our pace pretty well. Had some people jump in front of us from a random hole so that was pretty annoying. There’s no food (besides some pre-made hotdogs and things like that) and no beverage cart (at least I didn’t see one our whole round) and I also didn’t notice any water jugs on the course to refill your water bottle - these 3 things is why I have it 4 stars. I wish they had a food truck or something - there are areas of opportunity here for sure but this is one of the better courses I’ve visited in the valley

Played for the first time. Course was in good shape. Fairways are firm and fast and there is ample room off the tee. There are plenty of divots that need to be fixed but by and large the fairways are good. The real test comes on the greens. They too are firm and fast and many balls will either roll off the green or leave you with 40 foot putts. The greens are very undulating and require a lot of focus to not 3 putt a lot. But it is a fun course, play moves along quickly and there is a lot of strategy required in hitting to these greens. But that makes it fun too. I am from California and the price for Red Hawk was fantastic. With cart $65. What a deal.
