Falcon Crest Golf Club

Kuna, Idaho, USATreasure Valley

Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho is a public 18-hole championship course showcasing wide fairways, strategic bunkers, and western high desert scenery. Its approachable layout appeals to all skill levels, complemented by a par-3 Cadet course and a revamped nine-hole option for diverse play.

Course Overview

Falcon Crest Golf Club offers an 18-hole championship layout situated in the semi-arid landscape of Kuna, Idaho. As a public course, Falcon Crest presents a diverse golfing experience framed by rolling fairways that stretch across open terrain peppered with native grasses and intermittent stands of juniper. This course balances wide landing areas with strategic challenges, inviting players of varying skill levels to enjoy a round that rewards precision without sacrificing playability.

The design integrates natural contours with man-made bunkering that both protect the greens and test golfers' approach shots. Despite some recent growing pains reported by patrons, the maintenance team consistently aims to keep fairways and greens in solid conditioning under challenging local climate conditions. The par-72 course offers a range of tee boxes catering to beginners through advanced players, making it accessible while still providing enough difficulty to engage more seasoned golfers.

Surrounding views emphasize the high desert environment, with open skies lending a sense of space and an occasional breeze that can subtly affect ball flight. Players should prepare for variable wind and firm turf especially during summer months. Walking the course is allowed and can be rewarding for those who appreciate observing the landscape shifts hole to hole, though golf carts are subject to use restrictions depending on course conditions.

Falcon Crest has expanded its appeal with the addition of a nine-hole par-3 Cadet course and a revamped nine-hole Freedom course, both designed to complement the main layout and offer varied practice and play options. The Cadet course is especially notable for its compact but challenging design, serving both novices seeking confidence and experienced players sharpening short game skills.

The club’s amenities remain more understated compared to regional resort complexes, with the focus squarely on the golf experience itself. A new clubhouse is reportedly planned, which should enhance onsite facilities and create a more engaging social hub. For those traveling from Boise or nearby areas, Falcon Crest provides an opportunity to experience an evolving Idaho golf property with a distinctly western character and an approachable challenge.

Visitors are encouraged to check current conditions and tee time availability as the course continues through phases of renovation and policy refinement. Overall, Falcon Crest Golf Club stands as a practical destination for golfers looking to enjoy a straightforward, well-positioned course that embraces its environment with honest, championship-level golf.

Course Highlights

Falcon Crest integrates open desert fairways with bunkers that demand accurate golf shots. The addition of a challenging 9-hole Cadet par-3 course offers a unique practice and play experience. Scenic views reflect Idaho’s western landscape, with wide open skies and subtle wind influence shaping play. The course continues to evolve with planned clubhouse construction and ongoing course enhancements.

Just not worth it. They must be trying to recoup the costs of going private in their overpriced tee times. All facilities under construction. Two par 4s playing as 3s, one on a temporary green. Carts are absolute garbage even though they have newer ones sitting in the parking lot. Check in is in a construction trailer, pro shop staff is so-so. Rates should be discounted, instead they're higher than ever. You could play almost any course in the valley and get a better experience. Overall condition of the championship course is decent as it always is. However, for $90 you could avoid driving to Kuna and go play one of the munis or Banbury. You'll have a much better experience. Hope they don't lose all of their patrons prior to going private. Last time I'll play here.

The course is beautiful and well maintained, but they really need to enforce some basic golf etiquette. We were a twosome playing 18 and had to wait on every hole. By the time we got to the back we realized there was a group of 6 playing ahead of the group ahead of us. Everyone has their Bluetooth speakers which I personally find extremely inconsiderate and distracting when I'm trying to hit. This is one of the nicest courses in the treasure valley but it feels like a free for all where anything goes. We heard it's working to become private, they are going to have to make some serious changes if that's true.

Drove out there for 30 minutes with my golf cart (which is course compliant) just to be told I cannot use it. When I asked why, I was told “We can’t have grass being kicked up”. You can’t make this up. Not only was staff ridiculous and rude with their reasoning, the course itself should have had discounted green fees. The carts are just trash, and majority of the time you’re driving on dirt, and 2 of the holes were unplayable. Overall the course was decent, but I couldn’t imagine anyone being happy playing this course often.

Worst golf course by far in Boise. Played 5/11. Practice green closed. Driving range hard as a parking lot. Three holes modified and made shorter - nobody said anything about this on the website or in the pro shop. Weeds all over the fairways, seriously it was like they hadn't pulled a week this year. Ridiculous temporary greens played like a roller rink. Pro shop manned by someone who made Biden look lucid - couldn't tell me the yardage, couldn't provide a map, gave me the wrong scorecard. No place to get a snack at the turn. Cart girl seen on hole 1 in the shade on her cell phone, never to be seen again despite mid morning tee time. No announcement of who was teeing off, so players arrived late when they couldn't find the first hole. SERIOUSLY - THIS IS AMATEUR HOUR and I'LL NEVER GOLF THERE AGAIN. Pathetic - you'll find better maintenance and more seasoned professionals at your local Putt Putt course with your kids.

I can't say enough good things about the golf course. It's my favorite course in the valley because it offers so much. The 18-hole championship course is always in excellent condition with awesome greens and fairways. The revamped, 9 hole Freedom course is a great track now that the bunkers have good sand in them, and the par 3 Cadet course is just amazing. The Cadet course is both esthetically amazing and super challenging. In my opinion, there isn't a better practice facility in the state. The only criticism I have is the lack of a nice clubhouse, which I hear is forthcoming. I will miss playing this course when it goes private.
