The Eagles Golf Club
The Eagles Golf Club in Odessa, Florida, offers a balanced 27-hole layout with varied terrain including lakes, forested areas, and rolling hills. Its approachable yet strategic design suits players seeking a diverse day of golf surrounded by natural Floridian beauty.
Course Overview
The Eagles Golf Club, located in Odessa, Florida, offers a sprawling 27-hole layout that challenges golfers while providing an engaging variety of natural scenery. Comprised of three distinct nine-hole courses—Lake, Forest, and Highlands—the course presents a mix of strategic water features, wooded corridors, and open fairways. This private-resort hybrid appeals mostly to moderate and experienced players seeking a course that balances length with thoughtful shot shaping rather than outright difficulty.
Approaching the cart path, the course reveals its Florida character: sunlit lakes reflecting cloud formations above, and tree-lined fairways that lead into generous greens. Each nine offers a slightly different experience, from the Lake course’s water hazards that beckon caution, to the Forest course’s tighter holes framed by tall pines demanding accuracy off the tee. The Highlands course, with gently rolling terrain and occasional winds, tests tempo and distance control.
While not designed by a marquee architect, the layout's mixture of holes avoids repetition and encourages strategic play without overwhelming the average golfer. Bunkers are placed thoughtfully to challenge approach shots rather than punish errant drives excessively. However, some players note the maintenance of the greens can fluctuate, affecting roll and speed across the surface. Golfers should prepare for variable green conditions and expect a test of patience alongside their shot-making skills.
The clubhouse serves as a comfortable gathering spot with dining options and a pro shop offering equipment and apparel. This helps round out the experience for a full day on-site. Golf carts are generally provided, though demand may fluctuate during peak times, and walking the course is possible on all three nines.
Located approximately 20 miles northwest of Tampa, The Eagles Golf Club provides a quiet retreat from the city’s bustle but remains accessible for day trips. Wildlife sightings, including wading birds and occasional small mammals, add a subtle vibrancy to the course’s atmosphere. Players planning a visit should be ready for Florida’s unpredictable weather, particularly afternoon thunderstorms in summer months.
In essence, The Eagles Golf Club delivers a broad, approachable test of golf set against the Central Florida landscape. It caters mainly to players comfortable with a mid-length layout that rewards sound strategy and composure. While maintenance and pace of play at times draw criticism, the course’s diversity and friendly staff contribute to a worthwhile regional golf experience.
Course Highlights
The course’s three nine-hole layouts each offer distinct challenges: Lake’s water hazards demand accuracy and strategic ball placement, Forest’s narrower fairways reward precision, and Highlands’ gentle elevation and variable winds require careful shot selection. Mature trees and native Florida wildlife contribute to an immersive natural experience.

What an awful experience. 89$ for the most garbage course I've played on in the greater Pinellas county area is wild. I was surprised to find 5 holes with sand traps in the middle of the greens, that was a new feature I have never seen on a golf course. Chi chi rodriguez is more worth your time instead of this place and you'll save 30$ on every round and their greens are flawless. If you don't believe me just check out Eagle Club's greens for yourself and see if you would want to putt for birdie on these greens. Nice and long and that's cool but it ain't much longer than Chi Chi and definitely not worth the aggravation. Honestly going to play 5 rounds of putt putt with a driver would've been more exciting, fulfilling, and cost efficient than today's round of golf at the Eagles Golf Club for kinda the same experience. Can't wait to tell everyone that comes into my bar I work at to share what an awful course I played at this week for $90. Please do better signed everyone that's going to go here in the future. 🫶

Fantastic golf course. Always love coming to these 2 golf courses and truly appreciate that there is a Military Discount. We played both courses in the same day with lunch in the clubhouse, served up by an amazing bar staff. The cart ladies on the course were quick, friendly, and accommodating with each visit. I played golf with my brother who this was his very first time playing in Tampa, he is from Dana Point and lives on Monarch Beach club course. He loved to levels of difficulty and the abundance of wildlife on the courses as you played each hole. Thank you so much for a very memorable week!! Semper Fi!

Wild that they’re still charging $80+ for this place. Maybe it was worth that 10 years ago. Really sad how far this place has gone down hill. It appears they aren’t even attempting to maintain it. Fairways loaded with weeds, traps are garbage and the greens are unplayable. Yikes.

**Absolutely Horrible Experience - Worst Golf Course Management Ever!** I booked a tee time for my birthday, looking forward to a relaxing and enjoyable round of golf. I made the reservation over 2 weeks in advance for 8:37 AM, showing up 22 minutes early at 8:15, only to be told there were no carts available. To make matters worse, while we waited, a group of 16 with a reservation at 9:22 was magically given carts and put ahead of us. This not only ruined our playtime but also added over an hour to our round. Seriously? The lack of coordination and fairness was shocking. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with cart availability here, but I foolishly gave them another chance. Big mistake. The management is incompetent, and the overall experience is frustrating. There are *so* many better courses in the area that actually know how to run a business. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere if you don’t want your special day ruined. **Zero stars if I could give it**

Great place and central location to play a few rounds in the Tampa area. Lakes and Forrest course are in good shape. The greens need a little work but still both great tracks with excellent views and plenty of wildlife.

The Forest course is nice, especially after all the rain we have had in the area. The course is maintained fairly well. More grass clumps in the fairway than what you would expect and the greens played well. It’s worth the drive.

Very pleasant experience. Excellent staff, very accommodating from the pro staff to the restaurant personnel. The golf courses are fair and challenging. The only downside would be that several greens need attention.

Absolutely the worst course I’ve played…paid $85 for the round to play in dirt and weeds. Very disappointed in this place and will not come back.
