Roanoke, Virginia, USASouthwest Virginia

Ballyhack Golf Club invites golfers to experience an 18-hole championship course set across natural elevations with a layout that challenges strategy and precision. Beyond the fairways, players enjoy top-tier service, quality dining, and on-course amenities designed for comfort and convenience.

Course Overview

Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, Virginia, offers an 18-hole championship layout that seamlessly combines classic design with modern hospitality. This semi-private course unfolds across rolling terrain shaped by natural elevations and mature trees, crafting a setting that challenges golfers while providing a visually engaging experience. The course layout demands thoughtful shot-making, with well-placed bunkers and undulating greens that reward precision and strategy rather than brute force. Ballyhack strikes a balance that suits a wide range of players - approachable enough for mid-handicappers to enjoy but with enough complexity to satisfy seasoned golfers seeking a test.

What sets Ballyhack apart is not only the quality of its fairways and greens but the comprehensive experience that surrounds the game. The clubhouse offers refined dining options and a well-appointed lounge where players can unwind after their round. Finger food crafted with care and thoughtfully curated menus elevate the post-round ritual, complementing the warm and attentive service noted repeatedly by visitors.

On-course accommodations add a distinctive edge to Ballyhack’s appeal. Strategically placed luxury carts and halfway house facilities provide convenience without distracting from the rhythm of the round. Evening rounds and practice putting at dusk have become popular among those looking to extend their time on the course while enjoying cooler temperatures and a relaxed atmosphere.

The natural landscape plays an active role throughout play. Slight elevation changes influence club selection and stance, while mature trees frame holes with a quiet formality. Bunkers guard the greens more as strategic obstacles than mere hazards, inviting golfers to consider placement and approach angles carefully. The course performs well in all seasons, with well-maintained turf and drainage keeping conditions consistent.

Ballyhack Golf Club represents more than a place to play—it is a destination where golf and hospitality intersect. Those planning a visit will find a course that respects tradition while delivering contemporary comforts, an ideal choice for those who value thoughtful design paired with memorable service.

Course Highlights

The course is defined by subtle elevation changes and mature tree lines, offering strategic bunkering that tests shot placement and course management. Signature holes emphasize thoughtful risk-reward play rather than length alone. The club’s on-course food and beverage services and luxury carts enhance the overall experience, allowing players to stay refreshed without losing momentum.

Unique golf experience. It is rare to have such elite service all at one place. It feels like some of top hotels in the nation. Anything we thought of was taken care of. The food was what you would expect from any top restaurant in the nation. This is way more than just the golf, it is an experience. The accommodations on the course made things so convenient. At 5 the par three starts up. Putting at night. If you have the chance, check this place out.
