Indian Lakes Golf Club

Boise, Idaho, USASouthwest Idaho

Indian Lakes Golf Club in Boise offers a friendly nine-hole, parkland-style course ideal for golfers of all skill levels. With a relaxing setting and approachable layout, it’s a welcoming option for casual rounds and community play.

Course Overview

Indian Lakes Golf Club in Boise, Idaho, offers a welcoming nine-hole layout that appeals to golfers seeking a friendly neighborhood course with manageable challenges. Located at 4700 S Umatilla Ave, this public course provides a straightforward yet enjoyable golfing experience framed by clear views of the distant mountain ranges. The course’s parkland style features fairways bordered by mature trees and well-maintained greens, creating an inviting environment that suits both beginners and intermediate players.

At a glance, Indian Lakes plays shorter than many full-length courses, making it an accessible option for newcomers or those who prefer a faster round. The course demands accuracy more than distance, with several holes featuring tighter corridors that encourage thoughtful shot placement. For players who tend to sway wide, prudence off the tee will be rewarded, as some fairways run close alongside each other. The gentle rolling terrain adds variety without overwhelming less experienced golfers.

The clubhouse enhances the visit with a recently updated bar and dining area, where large windows offer an appealing mountain view, perfect for relaxing after your round. Guests frequently note the friendly and attentive staff, with the pro shop team readily sharing course insights and helpful pointers.

Walking the course is encouraged and comfortable underfoot with generally smooth paths and soft grass. Players should take care during busier times, as the course can become crowded, occasionally extending pace of play. Weekend mornings or weekday afternoons tend to offer the most leisurely conditions.

While Indian Lakes is not a championship venue, its charm lies in approachability and community spirit. This is a course where casual rounds and social outings come first, making it an excellent choice for families and golfers seeking to sharpen their game without intimidation. Whether stopping by for a quick nine or enjoying lunch with friends afterward, Indian Lakes Golf Club delivers a practical and pleasant experience amid Boise’s scenic backdrop.

Course Highlights

Pace of play is horrible every time I play here. Maybe if they spaced out the tee times or enforced pace of play it would be better. Also bought a large bucket and within five minutes they were telling people on the range “I can’t make you stop hitting balls but hit them faster”. Just don’t sell a large bucket if you are going to tell people that. Maybe have a marshal on the course rather than just the driving range.

I have never been a golf kind of person but was here trying out their burger and fry’s so thought I would check out the physical golf course and see what it’s like around early afternoon. There were quite a few golfers being a week day and the weather was excellent. This is a 9 hole golf course but it out here in a nice area for the locals I guess.

Played 9 holes on a Thursday 11:20 tee time. Our ladies 3-some (walking) got done in 2 hours. Course was great. but it's the Gents playing around us yelling fore, hitting into adjacent fairways. It's narrow, so if you're a sprayer with the driver, might club down to a 3 wood and keep it in play fellas. We had lunch afterwards which was very good. Suggestion, open those blackout curtains in the dining area! It was a blue sky day with a gorgeous view of the mountains in the distance. Open it up, please! The remodel of the bar and clubhouse is quite nice.

Went in last night and had an amazing experience. Nolan in the pro shop was very welcoming and helpful! He was extremely knowledgeable about the game and the course. The course was well kept and a fun experience for all levels of play!

Nice course but they consistently over book. If you work a 9-5 probably not the best place to snag a quick nine. Multiple group queues on every hole. 5:20 tee time, skipped two holes, finished at 8:00. When then course is dead it’s a great track.
